A Chocolate Cake Recipe that Stacks Up
Last week I got a frantic email from my oldest friend, Kim. She and I have been friends since we are 6 years old. We used to play with barbies together until she outgrew them, and I had to play by myself. I would still play with barbies if it was socially acceptable, which is probably why I have befriended all of the 2 year old children in my apartment building, but I digress.
Kim and I not only share a long history of friendship, but a deep passion for baking and cake decorating. She was set to make a wedding cake for a friend’s wedding, but found her chocolate cake recipe just wasn’t stacking up, pun intended.
“I need a good chocolate cake recipe, but the one I have isn’t stackable for a multi-layered cake!” she wrote.
So, off to my online network I went, and I will say - we got so many wonderful chocolate cake recipes!
For those of you in search of your own recipe, I wanted to share our findings.
First up, my own favorite recipe which is easily translated into a pareve version, but NOT good for stacking a wedding cake. Of course, my love for this recipe stems from my passion for Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa Powder which I have mentioned before. Deep Dark Chocolate Cake.
